Connect your first mailbox (Google, Microsoft or IMAP)

How to add a domain in Syncon: one-click connection through Google or Microsoft, or manually via IMAP and SMTP, plus the connection test.

In Syncon a domain is one company mailbox (for example [email protected]). Each domain keeps its own identity: you reply from its address, it has its own AI and widget settings.

Add the domain

  1. Go to Domains and press Add domain.
  2. Give it a recognisable name (e.g. "Support Your Company") and fill in the sending address (from) and display name.
  3. Choose how to connect: Connect with Google or Connect with Microsoft for Gmail/Workspace and Microsoft 365 (no stored passwords), or type the IMAP and SMTP details manually.

Manual connection (IMAP/SMTP)

You get these from your email provider (cPanel, Zoho, Yahoo, etc.). They usually look like this:

  • IMAP: the server (e.g. mail.yourcompany.com), port 993, SSL, the username (full address) and password.
  • SMTP: the server, port 587 with TLS (or 465 with SSL), same username and password.
  • If the provider requires an "app password" (Yahoo, some Google/Microsoft accounts without OAuth), generate one in the email account and use it here.

Test and sync

  1. Press Test connection: we check IMAP and SMTP and tell you exactly what fails, if anything.
  2. Save. The first sync pulls recent messages; then the mailbox is checked automatically at your plan's interval (every 60 minutes on Free, from 2 minutes on paid plans).
  3. For an immediate check, use Sync now in the domains list.

Good to know

  • Several mailboxes on the same domain (support@ and sales@) take up a single domain slot.
  • If a mailbox errors out (changed password, provider down), the reason shows in the domains list and you get an email when it keeps happening.
  • You can pause a domain temporarily without losing any history.
